Bold ideas.
Speculative systems.
Experimental interfaces.
Creative technologies.
New rituals, tools, platforms, and possibilities.
Bold ideas. Speculative systems. Experimental interfaces. Creative technologies. New rituals, tools, platforms, and possibilities.
For projects that should not disappear after the show, the thesis, or the prototype.
DESIGN X EDGE 2026 selects emerging ideas with the potential to grow into new products, platforms, systems, cultural conversations, creative ventures, or future design methods.
We welcome designers, artists, creative technologists, researchers, students, studios, and early-career professionals worldwide whose work deserves to be seen beyond the classroom, portfolio, or studio.
Selected projects will be featured through DESIGN X SERIES, reaching an international audience online. A final selection will be included in the annual DESIGN X EDGE publication, planned for global availability through bookstores and online retail channels.
Why DESIGN X EDGE
Some projects arrive before the world has a category for them.
They may begin as thesis work, prototypes, speculative systems, independent experiments, studio research, or quiet questions that later become products, platforms, methods, companies, or cultural signals.
DESIGN X EDGE is built to identify these early signals and give them a stronger path toward visibility, publication, and future connection.
Who Should Apply
DESIGN X EDGE 2026 is open to emerging and early-career creatives worldwide, including:
Designers
Artists
Creative technologists
Researchers
Students and recent graduates
Independent studios
Early-stage founders
Interdisciplinary teams
Projects may come from graduate thesis work, design studios, research labs, independent practice, speculative proposals, prototypes, exhibitions, startups, public programs, or self-initiated experiments.
Your project does not need to be fully commercialized or production-ready. It should have a clear point of view, strong documentation, and the potential to grow beyond its current form.

FAQs
-
Yes. You may submit multiple entries, as long as each entry represents a unique project.
Each project should be submitted separately with its own project information, images, credits, and submission fee if submitted during a paid phase.
-
Submissions are project-based, not person-based.
If a project was created by a team, it should be submitted once as one entry, with all team members and collaborators properly credited.
Please do not submit the same team project multiple times through different teammates, as this may create duplicate entries and complicate the review process.
-
Please choose up to two EDGE Tracks that best describe your project.
The tracks are not strict categories. They help us understand your work, organize review, and shape future DESIGN X editorial features and publications.
If your project does not fit neatly into one track, you may select Other / Hybrid Direction and briefly describe its focus.
-
Individual feedback is not guaranteed.
Shortlisted or selected projects may be considered for additional editorial development, professional feedback, interviews, or future DESIGN X opportunities, depending on review capacity and project fit.

If your project includes confidential, client-owned, patent-sensitive, unpublished, or restricted materials, please remove or anonymize sensitive information before submitting.
DESIGN X is not responsible for confidential information included by the applicant in the submission.
